Hey Quint how much does it cost to enter the Vodaphone Awards ?

For whatever reason I have decided to name My new White Firebird reverse guitar "Miss September," because I found her soon after seeing the Brian Jonestown Masscre in Christchurch in September of 08.

As  a matter of fact the 1970s Washburn Wing guitar that I have commonly used - hitherto, - until now,- has been known  as `The Meataxe,' simply because it was used as a weapon of choice for Chopping up the Sonic Meat so to speak.

`The Meataxe' is still a great guitar on some songs though, because tonally it encapsulates the dog bite aggression of Punk Rock. Hook that with a drum machine. Hhmmmm. Yes.

Currently I am in the studio with a new guitar rig working on a new Bevy of songs, re-interpreting my roots. Oh dear, ... Neil Young tendencies with Pink Floyd Delay drenced guitar. Far out ! !! I guess there is nothing is new under the sun, but I will tell you something new .... "`Miss September' " really shines on record !!!

Hey earthman, Here Here I really really dig what your are saying , its like you have to put out a constant wave of energy as if your you are bleeding into a dark ocean of distinterest, and it as if there not even sharks around, but I reckon this stuff goes places anyhow... in peoples hearts and brains, even tho no ones saying.  Your record " YEAH NAH" is a great document, so what if its not as popular the Backstreet Boys. underground is still underground. The Radio guys are just number crunchers employed my marketing majors, alot of times their hands are tied and their mouths gagged even though they know better.

Well it was a Great day seeing SPECIAL FEATURES playing the Invercargill Musicains Club on Sunday, in fact it actually harks back to a time last century when N.Z. had two telelvision channels - seeing Special Feautres Live was like seeing something out of Radio With Pictures. I kid you not. Those Jokers got a swaggering stance & theiir music wobbles about the Beat. Brit pop buzz dialed courtesy of Russell Mckay's VOX amplifier, (dont give up on that baby Russ) and Hippies plastic Trademe box of Bass crunchass gizmo. Wow. Shimmering tones and controlled feedaback brewing away under the surface. Freakin outstanding. Todd slumped down on the drums like Brent McClochlin out of the GORDONS. They didnt deviate one iota from The Rule, "...Thou shall play Originals.... Your Originals." I think these guys when they get out to play are quite simply one of the most potentially commercial operations working in the south today. They straddle the Alternative pie, the Hip Cool and the Ultra Pop. Technitions of Sound and Songcraft. Well done Guys. Cant wait to see you again at New Zealand Music Month Extravagnza in Gore at the Longford Function Centre on Sat 24th May.
